We had one more stop on the trip. That was Switzerland. Some say you save the best for last and I think we did.
The train ride was fairly short (4 hours from Munich to Bern), but it was little late, so we had to RUN to the next one which left in 1 minute (The girls love that, NOT!) Luckily, there were some amazing (if not magical) sights to take in along the way. There was a lot of farm land (resembling Wisconsin), but the mountains, lakes and cliffs with hillside houses were unbelievable!
We had to change trains in Bern, Switzerland and catch the last train for another 52 minutes. Thank God!!! Rianna (and the rest of us) are getting a little tired of the whole train thing.
We arrived in Interlaken to some of the most beautiful weather of the entire trip. Sunny, cool and dry. We decided not to waste the day, so we got checked into the Splendid Hotel (no really, that's the name), and headed off to the mountain tops. They had given us passes at the front desk to go on the tram to the top for only 10 CHF (that's Swiss Francs), instead of 27. We jumped at the chance and it was well worth it. I had joked to Rianna while riding up it was a perfect scene for Bruce Willis to kick out the front windshield, hang from the cable and start firing the machine guns for Die Hard Part 5. Turn our the train is called Die Harderbahn (perfect)!
Random Thoughts:
1) Could it BE anymore expensive?
2) Swiss chocolate is not quite as good as Belgium (or maybe just different)
3) Trains are getting on our nerves!
4) The water in Switzerland is blue like the Carribean.
5) There are not many crosswalks in Switzerland, but they do stop at he stop signs.
6) Hooters and McDonalds are the same, just 3 times the price!
