We'll start with this. We did nothing that was illegal (in Amsterdam!). How could you get in trouble in a city with beautiful red lights, lots of coffee shops and tulips?
We took the New Europe walking tour again. Our guide had lots of interesting facts about this crazy "Las Vegas on steroids". Ok I made that phrase up, but it makes Vegas seem tame. It didn't seem like it was any more dangerous, mind you, but the way they deal with things seems a little more liberal. For example, as long as they display a sign that it is a coffee shop, the cops "assume" they are selling coffee. Ok, that is a little bit of history that was used for cleaning up the junkie population. You see, they thought if they made majiuana legal that they'd ultimately get rid of their drug problems. It turned out to very effective according to the stats they presented.
Anyway, you probably can't wait to see the pictures of the Red Light District, right? Well apparently if you take any pictures the girls will come out smash your camera, and even throw a cup of piss on you (that they keep by them for this occasion). Needless to say, you will have to visit for yourself...
The weather cooperated for the most part(meaning it didn't pour), but it was more like a Chandler winter day! In the 50s and low 60s with some blustery wind...Don't get me wrong, we are savoring the thoughts of cold weather and storing them up......Luckily we had dressed for this.
Random thoughts:
1) Not just anyone should work in the red light district!
2) They actually announced on the train that there were pickpockets on board.
3) Pancake pizzas rock!
4) It's really impressive how people can switch from 4 different languages on the fly
5) I love chocolate!
6) Subways rule (at least here)!
7) I used to hate red lights!
8) The people seemed kinda out of it here (must be all that coffee)
9) 4 countries in 6 days!
10) See if you can identify the piss deflectors, pissoirs
