Ok, Belgium waffles really are the best! They are so light and fluffy I don't think there are any calories in them (that's what we're going with anyway..). Mine had bananas, whip cream and of course chocolate. It was more desert than breakfast, but when in Rome (well you know...)
Now that I mentioned it, did I say that the chocolate here was out of this world? We saw at least a dozen chocolatiers (do we have those in the US?), and got free samples from all we visited. The Chocopolis was this amazingly cool building sitting atop a little hill that lured us towards it like a magnet. The people here are so nice too and each one greeted us with nice smile and usually a French accent. Sometimes I hear a little German tone as well (you can tell by the flem.....oh wait, that's Flemish!)
This place has a ton of shops and cool buildings (I'm just sayin). Really old buildings too! We went to the Brussels city museum and saw some that paintings dating back to the 1300s..
We also visited the most famous beer tavern (in the world, according to Jared), Delirium Cafe. They claim to serve over 2100 beers! We could drink a couple less than that before the Delirium started to settle in...I'm not sure if the goofiness was the beer, lack of sleep or just the Mergens way, but we were in full hysterics before we left the place. Jared was proclaiming that "there was no way he was going to sleep at 5 tonight". Turns out he was correct when he laid down at 3 and zonked out!!

The beauty of this whole time thing is that now it is "tomorrow", Wednesday for us, and we're already up (slept till 5:30!) for our adventure to London! Weather is looking good (sunny in London?)....
Catch you on the next round.....
